1963 Maserati 3500 GTI

This Maserati competes for "bench time" at Detailed Model Cars, and it often loses. Originally bought in 1998 as a non-running, un-driveable car,

the Maserati has progressed into a slightly lumpy, drippy, and tattered driver. Although they take bigger tools, many of the projects have a

remarkable resemblance to working on models that are considerably smaller. It is unclear at this time whether this fact says more about

the car or about the models.

On the road again!

Just getting the hood off took more time than it takes to fabricate one in 1:8 scale

Small tools came in handy; chain links did not fall into the crankcase

The digital photos on this site are unaltered. Well, 'unaltered' may be a bit of an exaggeration, but for the most part they bear

some semblance to the models depicted. If you see dust, the image is dead nuts on. If there is no dust, it is something of a crapshoot, but

captures the essence of the model without the distractions of background clutter and pet hair and the odd insect wing or bird dropping.
